A grounding rod is a ground electrode installed into the earth and connected to the grounded neutral of the electrical system which in turns grounds the entire home or business. It’s meant to keep the resistance low between the ground system and the earth surrounding the home or business.
Application
The purpose is to have a designed electrical path to dissipate a static discharge voltage (which can be lightning or other forms of static electricity) to the earth. The electrical earth ground rod is usually considered at zero volts. From this point all other voltage measurements can be taken with earth referenced to zero volts.
Advantages
1. Our GR are heavy and uniform coating providing molecular bond to a rigid steel core. 2. Rods have excellent longevity in most soils. 3. Rods will not crack when bent or tear when driven. 4. Available in custom length and diameter. Also, available in Stainless Steel Type-304.
Manufacturing Specifications
Ground Rods meet or exceed IEC EN 62561-2, ANSI/NEMA GR 1 where applicable and are UL Listed as per UL-467 specification. Rods less than 8′ or less than 10 mils of Cu coating do not require UL certification.
